17.01.2008 -
Universally designed, the UNILOCK EDB eroding module from SCHUNK, the specialist for toolholding, workholding and gripping technology located in Lauffen, Germany, enables numerous clamping solutions in the eroding machine in combination with universal vise and prism clamping modules. This creates genuine flexibility for the user and the highest precision in machining. The module’s repeat accuracy is less than 0.005 mm.
Just 39 mm high - it is extremely flat at 100 x 150 mm. The anti-corrosive module is equipped with an interface which is open on both sides and suitable for 5-sided machining. Combined in an adjacent arrangement, a minimum bore hole gauge of 100 mm is achieved. Centering is done via a short taper. Two clamping slides provide a self-locking, form-fit positive locking of the clamping pin. During the mechanical locking operation, compressed air can actuate the piston base. This "turbo effect" considerably increases the pull-down force, too.

Standardized interface
The uniform clamping pin used for altogether eleven SCHUNK UNILOCK modules is also well-thought and enables a flying tool change in the production process. Fixing, positioning and clamping are managed in one operation now. SCHUNK UNILOCK reduces the set-up time by up to 90 percent.
10 years of proven technology
The SCHUNK UNILOCK quick change pallet system has been proving its worth for 10 years. It is the No. 1 “Killer of set-up costs” in the stationary workholding. In this time, it has considerably shortened thousands of processes in modern production. With these quick change pallet systems, workpiece, equipment and clamping devices can be positioned fast and precisely, fixed and clamped in a single work operation. Due to the workpiece set-up that runs parallel to the primary processing times and outside the machine, the manufacturing down-times are cut drastically. This is a decisive factor when it comes to cost savings in the process chain. Quick change pallet systems can provide significant cost advantages particularly in small-batch production and work with a large number of different workpieces. This is why SCHUNK UNILOCK has been used with great success in numerous industries. These include applications in tool and die making, in assembly, automation or medical technology, in the machining industry, in automobile and airplane construction as well as in many other industries.
