The new PRG 2-finger radial gripper from SCHUNK combines high gripping moments with compact dimensions. An integrated pneumatic oval piston drive provides even more power than before.
Often, radial gripping motions are achieved by integrating a slotted link gear. Conventional connecting links cause, in case of small opening angles, a considerable reduction in gripping torque. This is exactly the reason why SCHUNK, found a solution for this problem: The patented 1-pin sliding block guide assures that a constant closing torque is maintained throughout the entire gripping range. The new PRG grips even larger workpieces, or workpieces with a larger tolerance range and the process is absolutely reliable. An integrated intelligent damping system allows shorter cycle times and an even larger maximum admissible finger length.
The all-purpose PRG is available customized for the respective application with a gripping force safety device, as a high-temperature version and with three different opening angles of 30°, 60°or 90°. The end position can optionally be monitored via inductive proximity switches or magnetic switches.
