Innovative Extensions are setting the Benchmark in Quality, Ergonomics, Set-up time and Cost
In the field of tool and mold making, the deepest angles of a workpiece have to be precisely machined. Because of this, SCHUNK offers the perfect solution. TENDO-SVL is a long, slim hydraulic tool extension which works without any peripheral equipment and independent of the type of spindle interface. The extension converts almost any precision toolholder into a highly flexible specialist for tight machine rooms. The precise run-out accuracy, the excellent vibration dampening and even an internal coolant supply assure excellent workpiece machining results and long tool life.

Universal Intermediate Sleeve -
Peripheral Cooling with Nozzle Effect
SCHUNK has always been known for the high quality of their intermediate sleeves. The leading expert in clamping technology and gripping systems will showcase a completely new generation of high-precision sleeves at the 2010 Euromold show. The GZB-S universal intermediate sleeves are suitable for every SCHUNK toolholder such as the TENDO hydraulic expansion toolholders or the TRIBOS polygonal clamping toolholders. Compared to a direct clamping actuation with the same shank diameter, a more than 50 % higher torque can be achieved. A new unique nozzle geometry assures that in case of a peripheral cooling the tool’s cutting edge will be provided with coolant.

Secure hold per vacuum
With PLANOS, the vacuum clamping system from SCHUNK, two-dimensional and planar undersides of workpieces can be clamped quickly, easily and process-reliably with a vacuum at the machine table. Normally plates are very difficult to be handled and clamped mechanically, but even thin plates can be fixed precisely and deformation-free with PLANOS.

Powerhouses for precise serial production
SCHUNK, the competence leader in clamping technology and gripping systems has completely reworked its series of TANDEM clamping blocks. Now they are part of a unique standardized modular system for highly-efficient workpiece clamping. The compact clamping blocks dispose of clamping force and precision. They have an extreme compact performance, develop enormous forces in confined spaces, and can be used on tooling machines. They can also be actuated pneumatically, hydraulically, via spring force or manually.

Ingenious clamping devices
The SVP Mini and SVP-RM from SCHUNK are both safe and cost-effective clamping devices. Due to the pre-adjusted pressure, TRIBOS polygonal toolholders can be instantly mounted with them. This saves time and energy, reduces set-up costs, and eliminates operating errors. Both clamping devices from the competence leader in clamping technology and gripping systems are handled by the operator, or directly at the machine spindle. They can also be fastened vertically or horizontally at the workbench.

Hydraulic Expansion Tooolholders - Most powerful than ever
With the TENDO E compact SCHUNK starts a new era in tool clamping. For the first time ever, hydraulic expansion toolholders are available, which transfer torques of up to 900 Nm (at a 20 mm clamping diameter) safely and are perfect for volume cutting under dry clamping conditions. Even in case of oily tool shanks, torques amount to 520 Nm, compared with conventional hydraulic expansion toolholders. With this improvement, SCHUNK has increased the performance of the TENDO E compact by about 60%. At the AMB in Stuttgart, this powerful hydraulic expansion toolholder will be showcased for the first time to a broad audience.

Program for Lifting Magnets has been enlarged
SCHUNK, the competence leader in clamping technology and gripping systems is well-known for the MAGNOS magnetic clamping solutions. Just in time for the AMB show, SCHUNK presents their enlarged program for permanent lifting magnets, which can be manually and electrically actuated, and for the first time ever, pneumatically. By offering this option, SCHUNK transfers the proven magnetic technology onto pneumatically actuated manipulators, balancers and automated solutions. Since the modules are easily actuated with compressed air, costs for commissioning are drastically reduced.

Flexible precision toolholder for tool grinding
The precise prism toolholder type PRISMO clamps every
shank diameter between 5 and 20 millimeters
Without any doubt, the PRISMO tool grinding toolholder from SCHUNK is one of the highlights of this year’s GrindTec show. With its variable clamping diameter, a threefold prism guidance, and intermeshed chuck jaws, the all-purpose mounting achieves high repeat accuracies of less than 0.005 mm and avoids tube unbalance almost completely. These are ideal pre-conditions for automated manufacturing of small batch sizes.
