The protection of the operator and the machine is paramount during turning. SCHUNK, the power chuck specialist from Menger now presents the electro-pneumatic ELKE 24/2 control unit with convenient safety module with the option of one or two pneumatic power chucks, each controlled in five operating positions where their function can be reliably monitored at the same time.
The integrated pressure monitor guarantees maximum operational safety for daily use. This results in the two-fold safety monitoring of pressure and differential pressure. Optionally, up to four RSS wireless communication systems can also be integrated for monitoring the pressure or stroke. SCHUNK now opens up a completely new safety dimension in turning.
The robust user-friendly control unit is easy to mount on any lathe and linked to the machine controller. It can also be optionally operated via a foot switch. The chucks can be controlled synchronously, consecutively or separately depending on the application. A teach-in function enables optimum fine adjustment to the chuck size and the individual application.
