Flexible lathe chuck for a high efficiency during turning

The 3-jaw power chuck type ROTA NCD from SCHUNK, the competence leader in clamping technology and gripping systems is an all-rounder for high-precision workpiece clamping on lathes. It is particularly well suited for users who machine several workpieces on one machine and can reduce set-up times and costs with the high-performance lathe chuck.
Due to the extremely large through-hole, various bar diameters can be machined on the ROTA NCD. The patented SCHUNK collet jaw system avoids lifting of the chuck jaws. Stability increases, and vibrations reduce. Even smallest bar diameters can be precisely clamped with the collet jaws. The ROTA NCD can be combined with all current top jaws, no matter if for I.D. or O.D. clamping. The user can choose among inch and metric serration. The continuous T-slot in the base jaws even allow extreme positioning of the top jaws.
The multi-purpose power chuck of the innovative family-owned company is extremely rigid and stable. Users benefit from the permanently high quality, precision and performance. Long base jaw guidances support the chuck jaws and allow highest clamping forces. The functional parts are hardened and ground from all sides, and ensure a high run-out and repeat accuracy. The wedge bar system for force transmission, and the low weight of the base jaws allow high speeds.
Due to the manifold possibilities of using the chuck, the user can quickly and flexibly change between the different set-up versions. Instead of switching between a collet chuck for bar machining, and a conventional lathe chuck for example, at the ROTA NCD the collet jaws are only exchanged against top jaws. Moreover, you can change between various machining types such as hard and soft turning, without having to change the chuck in one set-up. This saves valuable time and high investments for additional special chucks.
