TRIBOS-SVL

The TRIBOS clamping principle uses the residual tension of steel. By specific deformation of the polygon-shaped bore, it becomes cylindrical. In this state the tool shank can be inserted.
Upon release of pressure, the tool is clamped by the residual tension of the steel.

Special geometry

In the unclamped position, the clamping diameter of the TRIBOS toolholder is similar to a polygon.

Apply force

By means of the hydraulic clamping device, a precisely defined force is applied at 3 points to the toolholder. The clamping diameter is thus changed into a circular bore.

Insert tool shank

The tool shank can now be inserted in the clamping diameter.

Clamp the tool

When releasing the pressure on the clamping device, the forces acting on the toolholder are completely relieved. The clamping diameter goes back into its original shape thus clamping the tool.
The clamping process is done.
