Special Toolholders

Here you can see the function of hydraulic expansion arbor. They are used for ID clamping in the bore of a workpiece. A hydraulic toolholder works according the same principle, however clamps a tool in the clamping bore.

		The clamping screw
		The clamping piston is actuated with the clamping screw. The clamping screw can be clamped with an Allen key up to the stop. Overexpansion is therefore impossible. Safe clamping is guaranteed.
		The clamping piston
		The clamping pistons pushes the hydraulic fluid into the chamber system.
		The sealing element
		The lip seal is a leakage-free seal of the oil chamber.
		The expansion sleeve
		The expansion sleeve is loaded with stable pressure. Due to the absolutely centric all-round clamping, high run-out and centring accuracies of less than 0.003 mm are achieved.
		Connecting bores
		The pressure medium is channelled from the clamping piston into the expansion chamber via the connecting bores.
		The base body
		The base body is metallically connected with the expansion sleeve. In special cases, the expansion sleeve is fastened by screws and sealed via the O-rings. A simple replacement is possible if the clamping diameter is worn.
