2009 Creating a new customer-orientated future
The world economy is experiencing the strongest downturn since the postwar period. SCHUNK has felt the effect of this economic crisis in the machine building industry and relies on its three strengths: competence, innovation force and the overwhelming desire to succeed.
SCHUNK automation is growing!
Having already moved the automation group into a new building, SCHUNK is doing further renovations on the production facility in Brackenheim-Hausen. For about five million Euros, a new 4,000 square meters manufacturing hall is being built. Instead of manufactuing the modern automation components in two halls, they are now manufactured in three.

A modern training center has been opened!
After just six months of construction and an investment of about two million Euros, SCHUNK inaugurated the new training center in Lauffen. At a total area of 1,200 square meters, everything is consolidated into one building which is an important for a well-rounded apprenticeship. With modern machines, a structure similar to a manufacturing hall, an electronics lab, and training rooms, SCHUNK has built a facility able to produce highly trained technicians.

Challenging materials and complex components can be reliably machined with this innovative machine. No matter if the component is small or weighs a ton - this precision machine welds every type of component quickly and reliably.
SCHUNK Laser Technology
Laser forming creates freedom in design and flexibility.
In many industries laser forming is an established procedure if prototyes or test parts are required on short notice. However, functional parts for the real-time operation can be manufactured with this technology, too. For the first time SCHUNK offers individual solutions, such as gripper fingers or complete grippers made of laser-formed polyamide.
