Many different, thin-walled rings can be clamped with low-deformation, quickly and flexibly. O.D. and I.D. clamping are both possible. The roundness is better than clamping in a 3-jaw chuck by about a factor of 8. Thanks to the fast and quick conversion from workpiece to workpiece, the use of inexpensive standard top jaws is possible.
In the case of thin-walled aluminum rings in various dimensions (small batch sizes), the inner and outer contours are each completely turned.
