A cleaning system should be loaded and unloaded via a jointed-arm robot and a linear system.
With the system, tool pallets with contaminated parts are processed from back to front and are loaded again with cleaned parts from front to back. To do this, the robot unit removes two contaminated workpieces out of the tool pallet, moves up and positions the gripper above a mini-slide at the distance required for transfer. Afterwards, the robot head swivels by 180° and puts the gripper pair in the horizontal position. Then, the workpieces are transferred to the horizontal gripper pair of the second unit. The linear axis must only be traversed for long workpieces. Afterwards, the swivel head swivels by 180° and transfers the contaminated workpieces to a 3-station rotary indexing table, which brings them to the cleaning system. The swivel head and gripper are equipped with Viton seals to protect them from the hot steam. PGN-plus base and top jaws are coated with ATC.
