In the previous production sequence of the outer rings, three lathes, two broaching machines and two deburring/cleaning machines were integrated. The lathes should be flexibly and quickly operated by a robot.
The robot is placed between three lathes. It removes a pre-turned workpiece from the roller transport system for loading and transfers this to the lathe. The finished turned workpiece is removed with the 2-finger parallel gripper. Afterwards, the 3-finger centric gripper transfers the workpiece with the unmachined inner diameter to the lathe chuck. For this, the gripper is equipped with a gimbaled supported 3-point pressing star, which secures the plane-parallel system in the chuck. The turned workpiece leaves the robot cell on the conveyor belt. Deburring and cleaning the workpiece is done in two further systems, which are also integrated in the automated sequence.
