Process optimization measures by means of efficient and flexible final assembly of peripheral intravenous catheters, which are made up of a protective cap and blood collector plug, as well as catheter and capillary modules. At the same time, the set-up time is to be minimized, and that for up to 78 product variants.
In the production process of catheters, the injection needle and catheters were assembled manually up to now. This assembly can not be done fully automatically in a single system over a large range of parts. Workpiece carriers transport six catheters and injection needs to the assembly operation for this. The parallel gripper fixes the needles there, so that they are fixed in a certain tolerance range. By means of angular grippers, the catheters are gripped and assembled over the needles. The significant advantage here is especially the flexibility of the assembly device: The EGN is able to move with different strokes and can fix the complete range of injection needles this way.
- 78 different piston diameters can be sensitively gripped and fixed, fully automatically in one system.
- Absolute variability in stroke for maximum workpiece variance
- Short conversion of the entire system to another product variant
