The aluminum-coated packaging paper rolls are to be depalleted and placed on a conveyor belt.
A 4-axis robot grips in the inner hole of the roller with the linear gripper unit, swivels around and places the roller on the belt for further machining. To provide the gripping force reliably, compressed air reinforcement has been built in. Two rollers are taken up simultaneously for each stroke. For this, the gripper must bring the two gripping force components to the right distance to each other. A linear axis with spindle drive moves the gripper in position for this, before immersing in the inner opening of the rollers. At the same time, an optical sensor monitors whether the workpiece is in the right position.
